EVRO.NET is a Bulgarian corporate Internet Service Provider (ISP) offering high-speed dedicated lines to medium-sized and large businesses, various institutions, Internet cafes and others.
Following the model of
FREE.Techno-Link.com and
Data.BG, the ISP has developed its own free web hosting service, FREE.EVRO.NET. And although smaller in scope, today it consists of 32 servers, hosting nearly 10,000 users and thousands of audio, video and software files.
FREE.EVRO.NET lacks some of its competitors' features, but the service includes a fairly precise and easy-to-understand search engine, providing instant results on all file types.
Virtually the entire uploaded content, consists of tens of thousands of MP3s, compressed movies, games and software packages, among which highly popular titles like "The Matrix Reloaded" movie and the CorelDRAW graphics suite.
Ironically, FREE.EVRO.NET's front page contains a link to a warning letter sent by BullACT (Bulgarian Association Against Copyright Theft) to the company, informing the ISP its servers host illicitly copied movies and entertainment software.
An EVRO.NET representative told Svetlozar Online the company has a "zero-tolerance policy" towards content, infringing third-party intellectual property rights. But the service, only available to clients of Bulgarian ISPs, continues to grow by the hour, adding more music, movies and software, most of which conspicuously constituting copyright violations.
In the meantime, EVRO.NET keeps promising its own customers ultra high-speed and priority access to the web hosting service.
